Frank M. Rumbold

Frank M. Rumbold was born in Wisconsin in 1862 moving to St Louis at four years of age and graduating from Washington University in 1884 with a medical degree.

His military experience began in 1878 enlisting in the 1st Infantry Regiment in St Louis. He soon became Captain of Light Battery A and then commanded the Battery during the Spanish-American War from 1899-1901.

He resumed his medical practice while serving with Battery A and was then appointed at the Adjutant General of the Missouri National Guard in 1909.

He also served in WWI as a LTC commanding the 128 Field Artillery serving in combat in France having been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal and was again appointed as the AG of the Missouri National Guard. He died at 72 as a BG and was laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery 2 June, 1934.
