The MONGHOF 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held at the Soldiers Memorial in Jefferson City commencing on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, at 10:30am. This year the Board considered those Missouri Guard Members who served with distinction during the Spanish-American War of 1898 as our area of consideration. This was an important time in history as the US emerged as a world superpower after defeating Spain while also supporting the struggle by Cubans and Filipinos against Spanish rule. A key element of the war included the mysterious explosion of the battleship USS Maine in The Havana Harbor. The four Inductees biographical sketches and pictures can be found at our Inductions By Year Group Tab for 2024.
All Inductees will be honored for their exemplary service during that era. John Sastry, Chairman of the MONGHOF will preside over the ceremony along with Paulina Tramel, Treasurer MONGHOF, Von Abbott, Board Member MONGHOF, and Jeremy Amick, MONGHOF Historian. The keynote speaker is to be determined. The M1911 Pistol Raffle winning ticket will also be drawn during the ceremony. More information will be published as it becomes available. There will also be a separate ceremony at and in conjunction with the Soldiers Memorial Museum in St Louis on Saturday, November 9th, 2024, with John Sastry presiding and Nicholas Mikus, Board Secretary, in attendance. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
